2025/2026 academic calendar unchanged-GES

According to the Ghana Education Service (GES), the academic schedule for the 2025/2026 academic calendar for senior high schools remains unchanged, in a statement issued on January 2nd. The academic year for students in Forms One and Two under the single-track system will run from January 5 through February 27, then they will take a break before returning on May 3 to finish it by August 21. It is anticipated that students in single-track schools in Form Three will complete their academic year on June 21.

The statement went on to say that Form One students at transition schools would begin the academic year with online or off-campus learning from January 5 to January 30, while Form Two students will engage in off-campus learning from March 16 to April 17. However, students in transition schools who are in Form Three will continue to attend in-person instruction without interruption until the conclusion of their academic year in June.

GES states that it has implemented a variety of support initiatives to promote efficient learning during the off-campus intervals, such as free access to curriculum materials through curriculumresources.edu.gh, daily live lessons on MoE TV on Multi TV, and the use of school-based Learning Management Systems (LMS) for qualified schools.
In addition to these dates, GES also advised parents and guardians to pay attention to them and make sure their children have all the required documents and materials when they start school.
